Frequently Asked Questions

General Information
What makes a Banarasi silk saree “pure” and “handloom woven”?
An authentic pure Banarasi saree is woven entirely from 100% natural silk without synthetic mixes. The term "handloom" signifies that our skilled artisans manually weave each piece on traditional wooden looms. This meticulous process gives every saree its own unique character, intricate detailing, and undeniable heritage value.
Pure silk is a 100% natural, luxurious fiber spun by silkworms, celebrated for its breathable nature, incredibly soft drape, and rich, organic sheen. Man-made silk (often referred to as "art silk" or synthetic silk) is machine-manufactured using chemical fibers like polyester or rayon. While synthetic alternatives may imitate the glossy look from afar, they trap heat, lack breathability, and simply cannot replicate the weightless grace, durability, and heirloom elegance of a true pure silk Banarasi.
Every piece in our collection is proudly woven in the heart of Varanasi (Banaras), the traditional birthplace of these magnificent silk textiles.
Absolutely. The rich texture and natural sheen of our silk are the first indicators of purity. We also provide details regarding the origins and the specific weaving techniques used for our pieces to assure you of their premium, authentic quality.
Product Details & Care
Handloom sarees take days or weeks to craft by hand, resulting in unparalleled durability, richer textures, and heirloom-quality artistry that machines simply cannot replicate. Powerloom sarees are mass-produced by machines, which compromises the delicate detailing and traditional charm found in genuine handwoven silks.
We highly recommend strict dry cleaning for all our sarees. To preserve the fabric, store it wrapped in a breathable muslin cloth, keep it away from dampness or direct sunlight, and periodically refold it to prevent permanent creases in the delicate silk.
Definitely. The luxurious drape, heavy zari work, and royal aesthetic of our Banarasi silks make them the perfect centerpiece for bridal trousseaus, festive gatherings, and grand celebrations.
